2.texas hold em poker

Texas Hold 'Em poker is by far the best game for a beginner to learn. Instead of other poker games like Omaha High or 7 card stud which entail a great many more possibilities for calculating odds and perhaps even trying to count cards, Hold'Em can be learned in a few minutes by anyone, and you can be playing fairly well with a few hours practice. In order to learn the game, however, you must play and you must play fairly often. These are the basic rules for Texas Hold 'Em Poker.

????The Shuffle, The Deal and The Blinds

The dealer shuffles a standard 52-card deck.

(In casinos, the dealer never plays. A round disc -- known as a "dealer button" -- moves clockwise from player to player with each hand. The button marks which player would be the dealer if the deal were advanced from player to player as the game went along.)

Most Texas Hold 'Em Poker games start with the two players to the left of the dealer (the button) putting a predetermined amount of money into the pot before any cards are dealt, ensuring that there's something to play for on every hand......

3.strip poker

strip poker is a card game that some people like to talk about or imagine, but is probably not so often really played. The basic idea is to play a game of poker in which the losers have to remove items of clothing.

There are a number of different ways in which this can be organised.

  1. Play a game of poker without betting - maybe draw poker with a showdown after everyone has drawn the cards they need. The player with the worst hand (or maybe every player except the winner) must remove an item of clothing. This version is described in more detail on the Sunshine Nudist Club site.
  2. Dave Sawyer has posted detailed instructions for a highly playable version of Strip Poker based on draw poker, and using an original two-chip mechanism to allow players to fold, but not too often.
  3. ......

4.pai gow poker

Pai gow poker is a recent addition to the casinos, and is one of many games that has an Asian origin. A combination of the Chinese game of pai gow (meaning makes nine) and the American game of poker, this game of skill offers players a reasonable chance to win.

Pai gow poker begins by making a wager. Next everyone receives seven cards. A roll of the dice or a randomly generated number determines which player gets the first set of cards. The players then each arrange their seven cards into a five-card hand and a two-card hand. The five-card hand is ranked as in poker. Most, but not all, casinos treat A2345 (the "wheel") as the second highest straight. Some casinos do treatThe two-card hand will either be a pair or two individual cards. The highest two-card hand is a pair of aces and the lowest is a 2-3.....

5.omaha poker

Omaha is similar to Holdem in using a three-card flop on the board, a fourth boardcard, and then a fifth boardcard. Each player is dealt four holecards (instead of two) at the start. In order to make a hand a player must use precisely two holecards with three boardcards. The betting is the same as in Hold'em. At the showdown, the entire four-card hand should be shown to receive the pot.

All the rules of holdem apply to Omaha except the rule on playing the board, which is not possible in Omaha (you must use two cards from your hand and three cards from the board).....

7.draw poker

Draw poker is generally regarded as the standard poker form. It is usually played by three to seven players. In draw, each player receives a set number of cards and later has the opportunity to replace some or all of them.

The essence of Draw Poker is that the player builds a hand from 5 cards. After the initial round of betting the player may discard some or all of their cards and receive replacements. The players cards should never be revealed until the final Showdown, and are only then if absolutely necessary (more on that later). During the game, all cards are dealt and discarded face down.

There are two main things to learn when it comes to Draw Poker. The first is Poker's 5-card hands and their ranking. The second is the course of play including when and how to bet.

At the beginning of each hand every player pays into the pot. ...
