What is dedicated ip?
2006-12-11 14:16:46,from:WOWIn the hosting industry, Dedicated IP means one site, one IP.
Shared IP means many sites, one IP. Your Internet access provider may refer to Dedicated/Shared IP's as Static/Dynamic IP's, but, from a customer standpoint, there is no difference.
Due to Internet growth, the IP number repository continues to shrink, so much so that ARIN has suggested web hosting providers use shared IP's when possible. Large network IP providers are charging more and more for IP's mostly to deter web hosting providers from using too many of them, and, of course, web hosting providers must pass this cost along to their clients as necessary.
Other than for SSL certificates, there really is no good reason to have a Dedicated IP number. Your site will not perform any better by having its own IP.
